They say, "write what you know." Well, I know asthma. Well, I know my asthma (not miasma, but I suppose that might be a contributing factor.)

I'm a lifelong asthmatic, at times more severe than others. I want to take better control of how I feel, and want to track it, somehow, as I've found the memory of how well I've felt in the past years fades to "okay, I guess" after awhile. Hence, this blog. Also? I'm blogging now, which feels like I might as well admit to my future kids that I also had slap bracelets in the early nineties and attempted to wear belly shirts in the early aughts.

I'd like to get in better shape. I'm definitely not overweight, but neither could you call me svelte and lean. "Doughy" and "feeble" best describe me. At 26. Ugh. Anyway, my two biggest road blocks to ultimate physical fitness at the moment are asthma and sheer laziness. I'm not good at running but I am super awesome at sitting around. I'd like to figure out some activities that I can do for the rest of my life that will keep me active and healthy. Marathon running and ultimate fighting are probably not those activities, but I'd love to find something that makes me feel kickass.

I'd love it if a few fellow asthmatics could share their experiences getting healthy, feeling well, occasionally beefing up on steroids as their medical professionals deem fit. It's a common disease, but I doubt everyone experiences it in the same way. I'd be interested to hear others' stories.
